About the build:
Red Mage was a labour of love and basically an excuse to finally learn goldwork. I started the build shortly before the pandemic in 2019, and slowly poked away at it for 3? 4 years until finally debuting the completed costume at Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest 2023. This cosplay features a custom built open front hoopskirt, structured and padstiched jacket, and hundreds of hours of embroidery. Seriously, the cuffs alone took 80 hours. Every sewn piece of this costume is lined, and the hat was reinforced with Kobracast. The embossed belt is also made out of Kobracast and I made a video about it.
I entered her into Masters of Cosplay at Fan Expo 2023 and took home LuckyGrim’s host award!
